Super Summer is a discipleship/evangelism leadership conference designed to provide qualitative spiritual growth and help develop student leadership in Mississippi churches. Utilizing a camp setting, for 24 years, Super Summer has challenged students to learn how to penetrate their culture for Christ. The 2013 theme was “Redefine” taken from 1 Peter 2:9-10. The theme for 2014 will be announced in the fall.

Super Summer is not for everyone in your youth group. It is designed for students who personally have a desire to grow spiritually. Students come to Super Summer knowing that they will be challenged not only to grow, but to actively share their faith with others. Church leaders are responsible for sending only students that meet the requirements set forth for participation.

Super Summer is designed to build on previous years. However, a junior or senior in high school who has never attended will still find that the camp is relevant to him/her. First-year students study basic discipleship issues. Second-year students get introduced to worldview, different beliefs, and character issues. Third-year students focus the entire week on becoming a leader in all areas of life. Fourth-year students concentrate on a biblical worldview. Fifth-year students spend the week reviewing and refining what they have learned over the past four years especially concerning servant-leadership. This includes hands-on missions experience, usually in the inner-city Jackson area.

Rob Wilton

Rob has a desire to lead and facilitate people toward a personal and growing relationship in Jesus Christ. He was born and raised in New Orleans, but spent his high school and college years in South Carolina. While in college, Rob played college basketball and served as the Collegiate Minister at FBC Spartanburg, where his father Dr. Don Wilton is pastor. After graduating from NGU in South Carolina, Rob and his wife (Annabeth) moved to New Orleans to begin the MDiv at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and he also worked as a Special Projects Representative with Upward. Although Hurricane Katrina temporarily removed them from New Orleans, they returned with their brother Greg as they began Ignite Mission. This ministry facilitated their speaking events and launched a prayer and worship movement in New Orleans among young adults. As Ignite Mission began Rob served as the Camp Pastor and Director of the Mission Lab program at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. At this position, he has spoken to thousands of youth, college, adult, and senior groups from around the country as they come for the great mission of the physical and spiritual rebirth of New Orleans. While Rob served as the Camp Pastor of Mission Lab, God called his family to plant a church in New Orleans. In January of 2008, Vintage Church was launched in Uptown. He loves serving as the Lead Pastor of Preaching and Vision.

Rob is married to Annabeth and they have three boys: Bolt, Mack and Birk. He enjoys exploring New Orleans with his family, playing basketball and golf, reading, traveling, and watching the New Orleans Saints while eating gumbo.
